Anna Arianova studied Visual Arts and Drawing at Sholokhov Moscow State University for Humanities and furthered her artistic training through private study with the Honoured Artist of Russia, D. Vorontsov. She works across painting, drawing, illustration, paper sculpture, and mixed media, using a range of traditional and contemporary techniques.
Working primarily with mixed media, she create works inspired by personal experience, memory, and everyday life. Gouache, the first medium she worked with, remains central to her surroundings, emotions, struggles, and moments of joy. Mixed media allows her to combine observation, memory, and experimentation, creating layered works that reflect an honest exploration of lived experience.
Alongside her fine art practice, Anna has worked professionally as an illustrator, graphic designer, and arts educator for over twenty years. Since 2003, she has created illustrations for cultural, business, and IT publications and has designed numerous books and book covers for educational and fiction publishers. She has taught visual arts in schools, community organisations, and creative workshops in Russia and the UK.
Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in London and Russia, including The Portico Gallery, Espacio Gallery, Ripley Arts Centre, and The Lovely Gallery, among others. Anna runs a studio and art club at Sydenham Library, where she teaches and develops community-based creative projects. She is a member of the Redder Splash! Women’s Art Group and lives and works in South East London.
